New Initiative Announced for British Columbia Manufacturing and Service Companies

High Performance Solutions Inc. (HPS) initiates local support,                  with new Western Canada Division.

Surrey, British Columbia. Monday, September 10, 2007: High Performance Solutions Inc. (HPS), a Kitchener-based manufacturing and service improvement consulting company, has announced the launch of new provincial services and support for British Columbia organizations, effective immediately.
HPS Inc. is well known to industries across Canada who have implemented process improvements in their information, office, and shop floor environments. The company has been a leader in the formation of Manufacturing Networks and Consortiums across Canada, the USA, and Australia for nearly 20 years. With their announcement, HPS Inc. confirms team members are now in place and operations are underway to provide direct support for BC manufacturing and service industries seeking support and guidance for the implementation of Lean thinking and process improvements.
In making the announcement, HPS President, Mr. Scott Smith, stated, “HPS is well known to many BC companies because of our support of them over the last decade. Our company is proud to announce the commencement of the operations of HPS Inc.’s Western Canada Division, which will now directly and quickly respond to the needs of provincial manufacturers and service industries under pressure from global competition,”
I am especially pleased to announce the appointment of both Mr. Bob Adams and Mr. Jay Warren as the founding members of HPS Inc.’s Western Canada Division. Bob Adams has a long and distinguished career in manufacturing and will lead the operations as the Business Unit Manager and Senior Partner.   Bob brings to the company years of experience as President of several international manufacturing companies in Eastern and Western Canada. In BC he served as President of BC’s Knelson Group, and the Langley-based Alco Ventures Company. Bob has made a decision to return to Canada from his recent manufacturing operations leadership role, with a large US Manufacturer, in order to bring his experience home to benefit his province and Western Canada.
Jay is a Senior Manufacturing Consultant, and brings to the province, access to a manufacturing operations leader who has held senior positions in progressive companies such as Teleflex in Richmond. Jay has recently provided a range of Lean Manufacturing facilitations and training initiatives throughout BC. His background, experience, and leadership in engineering applications will directly assist BC companies to improve processes, eliminate waste, and accelerate their journey to world-class competitiveness.”
In concluding the announcement, Smith stated, “We are proud to have Bob and Jay leading HPS Inc.’s Western Canada Division in this most progressive province. I invite anyone with questions regarding HPS Inc.’s Western Canada Division to contact Bob Adams by email at badams@hpsinc.ca or by phone at 604-309-0355. For technical issues, contact Jay Warren directly at jwarren@hpsinc.ca or by phone at 604-782-7609”.
In describing HPS Inc., Smith stated, “HPS emphasizes coaching, not consulting, in support of Lean and World Class performance. This demands seasoned practitioners who are experts in their specializations which range from world class concepts to supply chain management, value stream leadership, diagnostics and analysis, team building, advanced shop floor practices & integration, leadership, and the development of Consortiums of small groups of companies who lever each other’s resources to compete and win.”

Smith concluded by adding, “Over the last 20 years our team members have provided applied process improvement consulting and Lean Consortium facilitation services from coast to coast across Canada while supporting their growth in the United States and Australia through Bob Kerr and Dave Hogg, the founders of HPS Inc.” Smith confirmed that Lean Consortia are also referred to as ‘Leveraged Learning Networks’ by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan Management Review – a designation bestowed on the successful process as documented in 1998 by MIT.
