Description:
This practical, condensed one-day workshop is a concentrated version of the typical 3-day CITT training. It is intended to provide an understanding of the process and yet provide simple tools that participants can take away and apply in a Continuous Improvement environment. It is especially appropriate for companies who must increase their competitiveness and want to begin the process by putting proven tools to use in their unique environment. The workshop is presented from the perspective of what is required to become a more competitive and effective High Performance or World Class Competitor.
These common sense, practical, simple, and proven tools and methods have been assembled by operations people for operations people. The training is focused in four areas:
- Continuous Improvement Teams
- Effective Communication/Team Meetings
- Continuous Improvement Tools
- The CITT Process.
Prerequisites:
To obtain maximum benefit, participants will be employed anywhere within the Manufacturing infrastructure - from the factory, office, finance, sales, distribution, management, warehouse, engineering, and maintenance - or, within the supplier/customer chain.
Format:
This training program is designed to bring together employees and managers side-by-side. All sessions are delivered by practitioners who understand that a world-class workforce is seamless and must function in a no-blame environment. Sessions are operations-focused, interactive, and highly visual with excellent videotapes and discussion sessions. Participants will be involved throughout. Effective class sizes are typically 24 people. Sessions can go to 50 but with much reduced interaction and dialogue.
Overall Training Objectives:
Upon Completion of this one-day training program, participants will:
- Be aware of what is driving the need for continuous improvement and how companies are typically coping in order to be able to compete and win
- Understand Continuous Improvement (CI) teams and how they achieve results
- Describe how CI teams are formed, their typical function, what they must manage, the transition phases they will go through, and the roles and responsibilities members need to execute
- Know how to run productive meetings that achieve results
- Describe and use simple tools including brainstorming, flow charting, cause & effect (fishbone) and the PDCA continuous improvement problem solving cycle and more
- Explain the 10 step CITT problem solving process and how to employ it to achieve results
