Meet...David Hogg, P.Eng., B.A. Sc.(Hons), Dpl. T,EE, Director of Consortium Development 

 Dave Hogg brings over 30 years of broad experience in manufacturing, management, education & training, quality and continuous improvement consulting to both private and public sector clients. 

Prior to establishing his first company in 1987, he held engineering, education, and managerial positions including Manager of Continuous Improvement for the Giffels Group, Marketing Manager for Unitron Industries, Chairman of the Technology Division of a major Community College, and served as Manager of Educational Programs & Services for the Ontario CAD/CAM Centre under the Ontario Centre for Advanced Manufacturing throughout the 1980's.

He is the founding President of the Ontario-based High Performance Manufacturing Consortium and also founded a similar consortium in BC and Manitoba.  He continues to support the development of consortiums in 7 of Canada’s 10 provinces.  He also founded High Performance Solutions, a consulting practice which includes US, Canadian, and Australian clients focusing on Lean thinking that achieves global success through people.

David’s commitment is to ‘make a difference that matters’ as he focuses on the "people" side of competitiveness where he believes that true security comes from achieving World Class performance that is achieved by harnessing the collective contributions of people.  He specializes in assisting organizations to achieve World Class performance through the implementation of Lean Thinking, Simplicity, Continuous Improvement, Change, and Total Quality Systems. 

 

His "Lean Management Skills" and “Introduction to World Class Fundamentals” presented in the US and Canada has brought positive change to many organizations. He authors two weekly newsletters and his articles continue to appear in a wide range of publications. 

 

He is in demand in Canada as a keynote speaker, and the U.S. and Australia, to speak on World Class/High Performance and global competitiveness.  He chaired Lean Sigma conferences, and the first two Canadian National Lean Forum forums in Toronto and British Columbia.  He is the Conference Chair for the huge 2,500-person 2008 Lean Conferenec which will be the largest ever held in North America.

 

He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, a past director and Industrial Committee Chair, and winner of the Cambridge Chamber’s Burt Bond Award.  He facilitates community self?help initiatives, has led AME, CASA, APEO and IEEE chapters. 

 

He was awarded the IEEE Centennial Medal.  He is the past chair of the President’s Lifelong Learning Committee for the Dearborn? based Society of Manufacturing Engineers and currently a member of the SME Manufacturing Enterprice Council which oversees the operations of SME.

 

Today he continues to install Lean team-based continuous improvement structures in US and Canadian companies on the road to World-Class performance.  David lives in Kitchener with his wife Beverley. Their grown children, Gillian and Stuart, now live in Summerland and Yellowknife.
