Lean Thinking and Practical Steps Offer Relief for Increasing Canadian Dollar
Cambridge, ON -- Nov 26, 2004 --

The rapid increase in the Canadian dollar, plus the encroachment into traditional markets by China, Indonesia and others demand that manufacturers intensify their drive to eliminate all waste throughout their companies.

“World Class competitiveness is now on the agenda of even the smallest companies,” commented Dave Hogg, President of High Performance Solutions Inc., a Waterloo Region company instrumental in establishing lean networks and consortia in Canada, US and Australia since 1987. “Some find it eye-opening to discover that a traditional commitment to Customer Service can hurt a company in 2004. Today, nothing less than a commitment to Customer Success has a future.”

Non-competing companies working together to lever resources, and ideas to reduce risk and accelerate their journey to World Class has been longstanding in other countries, and is now exploding in North America.

A breakfast session entitled Practical steps to World Class Competitiveness: Unlocking the Power of Lean Thinking & Consortiums will be held on December 16th from 8:00am-11:15am, at the new Hilton Garden Inn in Cambridge, ON (Hwy 24 and 401).

Session leaders include: Robert Kerr, Vice President of High Performance Solutions Inc. and past Operational VP of two international companies who implemented lean; Scott Smith MBA, Supply Chain & Value Stream Specialist, and former Business Analyst with Rockwell Automation; and Dave Hogg, President of High Performance Solutions Inc., and former Senior Manager with the Ontario Centre of Advanced Manufacturing.

The session focuses on the required changes in basic thinking. “Your competitors in 2004, said Hogg, are only one mouse-click away from you on the desktop of your customers computer…this alone makes it crystal clear that a customer cannot be given even one bad day.”

A $75.00 participant fee allows companies to send multiple participants. Each company will also receive a copy of The New Lean Toolbox, 3rd Ed. (A $54.50 value).
